OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE SDGs
At Grupo Aval, we promote initiatives that create economic, social, and environmental value. Our commitment as one of Colombia’s leading sustainable companies is directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), guiding our efforts toward continuous and global progress through three strategic pillars:
9: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure
We promote infrastructure development through our investments and the modernization of the financial system through digital innovation and interoperable solutions.
- 6 road concessions, 15 toll stations, and 625 km under concession.
- We launched innovative solutions such as WhatsApp transfers and cardless withdrawals across our Aval ATM Network.
- We reached 9 million Tag Aval users, strengthening digital payment infrastructure.
8: Decent work and economic growth
We contribute to sustainable economic growth through formal employment generation and capital mobilization. Our profitability is aligned with the creation of economic value for the country.
- 67,585 employees: we are one of the largest employers in the private sector.
- We generated $41 bn in economic value.
- We provided COP 20.2 bn in financing to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
- 1.3 million hours of training and development, averaging 51.5 hours per employee.
3: Good health and well-being
We contribute to strengthening healthcare services in the country for all people, supporting cancer research and treatment through CTIC.
5: Gender equality
We promote gender equality through governance, leadership, and access to financial opportunities.
- 31% of the members of our Boards of Directors are women.
- 50.4% of leadership positions (senior and middle management) are held by women.
- 56% of our total workforce is made up of women.
- We support a $6.9 bn portfolio directed to women-led businesses.
10: Reduced Inequalities
We reduce financial access gaps through inclusive solutions and local presence.
- We invested more than COP 70,000 million in social projects.
- We financed COP 6.4 bn in VIS and social housing loans, facilitating access to housing.
- We financed COP 540 billion in infrastructure projects for social development.
- We impacted 209,061 people through financial education programs.
- 123,112 banking correspondents and 2,738 ATMs.
6: Clean water and sanitation
Through the Misión La Guajira project, we help underserved communities across the country gain access to drinking water.
- We have delivered water access solutions in 52 communities, including 39 restored wells, 2 newly built wells, and 21 water treatment plants.
- 1,900 families (approximately 13,000 people) now have access to water, including 1,500 families with access to safe drinking water.

We support the transition toward a low-carbon economy through sustainable financing. We manage climate-related risks and opportunities with a long-term vision.
- We manage a $8.7 bn green portfolio.
- We invested $2.7 bn in energy transition projects.
- 38% of our energy consumption comes from renewable sources.
- We implemented a corporate climate strategy that guides our management of risks and opportunities.
